First Car Love Affairs

Tell each other about your first cars and all that made them special.

Mine was a 2000 Dodge Stratus ES, rocking a 180hp 2.5L v6. A little car weighing less than a Mini Cooper today. The color was gold so I named it after the Golden Girls, Dorothy. Dorothy had a certain stance that would make you think, “Hmmm, yeah I can go 50 around that corner.” The ripped leather interior didn’t make it shitty, it made it have character! As I would slam the pedal and take 9 seconds to get 0-60 I would wonder why I would ever trade this rusty piece of crap for anything. So I haven’t!

  1. 50 in a turn??? My first car was a 1968 Plymouth Fury with the Super Commando 440 V8. I could easily be driving 110-120mph and feel like it was 30mph. Probably not the best idea for a 19 yr. old. Anyway, it was stolen and later found in Salt Lake City with the engine removed. So, someone is flying across the salt flats with my first love. That’s where she would rather be and where she was free.

  2. My first car was my beautiful 2001 Pontiac Bonneville. she had a silver exterior and probably the most unappealing fabric interior i have ever seen but. but sadly that wonderful 3.8 liter v6 is dying out 🙁 and wont be around for too much longer………..
